Rejecting A Bribe Of RM 100,000: Four (4) Malaysia Police Officers Received Awards For Their Actions

As reported by Berita Harian, 4 police officers from Bukit Aman Investigation Department and Traffic Enforcement (JSPT – Jabatan Siasatan dan Penguatkuasaan Traffik) who rejected a bribe total of RM 100,000 were awarded for their integrity during the 212th Police Memorial Day on Monday, 25th March 2019).

Corporal Kamal Bahrin Abu, Corporal Rezazazwan Abdul Wahab, Corporal Muhamad Fitri Al’ Hakim Safee dan Corporal Ahmad Asri Abd Rashid  each received a letter of appreciation from our Home Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

According to Corporal Muhamad Fitri, the incident took place on 2nd October 2018 while he was patrolling the North-South Expressway with his partner, Corporal Rezazazwan, heading south.

While patrolling, the duo came across a speeding Mercedes Benz and instinctively, they did a check on the car plate number and found out that the car original colour was black. However with the same number plate, the speeding car is indeed grey in colour.

Suspecting something fishy, the duo caught up to the speeding vehicle and pulled it aside.

“While stopping the vehicle, the male driver tried to bribe us by offering us RM 300”

Corporal Muhamad Fitri rejected the bribe and insist to check the car boot. To their surprise, the driver was actually carrying drugs in his car and has then offer them RM 100,000.

“I then asked my colleagues for back up and he was then offered the same amount of money. We have turned down the offer and arrested the male driver before charging him for drug trafficking.”

“Our job is not easy but with the right team work and integrity, we can do our work better.

Salute to you, gentlemen! It is not easy to turn down RM 100,000 bribe but you prove everyone wrong! Keep It Up!
