It has been a while since we last heard from A&W after Inter Mark Resources Sdn. Bhd. acquired A&W Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. from KUB Malaysia Bhd.
Well, the good news is that Mr. George Ang, the man behind the acquisition has voiced his plan to open 15 to 16 more A&W outlets this year, during an interview with Bernama. There were 47 outlets today, up from 40 after the acquisition last September 2018.
The Company Plans To Expand The Number To 100 By End Of 2021 And Emerge Among The Top Few Fast Food Chain Restaurant In Malaysia
“We are looking at clinching sales of RM 100 million this year with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation”, said Ang.
If you have not known Ang, he is one of the founders of Manhattan Fish Market and the director of Revenue Valley Sdn. Bhd., which operates Manhattan Fish Market, Tony Rama’s and NY Steak Shack in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

- Delivery service in Klang, Penang and Johor during Q3 in 2019!
- More 24-hours standalone drive through restaurants!
- More affordable set meals, priced around RM 8.90 and RM 9.90!
Well, what can we say? We just cant wait! More fried chicken, the root beer float, curly fries, waffles – all our childhood memories!
P/s – I think I am going to get A&W Root Beer tomorrow. Give Me The FLOAT!
